3rd Line Infrastructure Support – Based Birchwood, Warrington – Permanent - Salary range: £27,564 – £31,930 depending on experience - 39 hrs per week
Our Client is a Government-owned company run on a commercial basis, providing expert advice and technical services to the nuclear industry and to government.
They play a key role in the UK and global nuclear industry.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced 3rd Line Support to join the company’s IT Infrastructure function based at their Birchwood Park office. (Some UK-wide travel will be required in role)
The company has undergone a digital transformation project over the last 18 months and to support the continued service improvement there is a need to expand the IT infrastructure team with the addition of a 3rd line support.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is keen to join a fast-growing department.
The Infrastructure Engineering role will involve
• Perform daily infrastructure checks and monitoring;
• Provide timely and effective resolutions to support the stabilization of the environment via service management tools;
• Ensure corporate data is secure and available;
• Project support work where applicable
• Work within a regulated environment maintaining security standard
• Work with 3rd party suppliers to resolve issues (SOC/NOC)
• Take a proactive approach to continually improving the performance and security of the infrastructure
Knowledge / Experience required
Experience of providing remote IT support to end-users of systems
Good understanding, with at least 2 years support and build knowledge of: WAN and LAN networking, firewalls, security techniques and best practices, Microsoft Windows server technologies, Backup Technologies, virtualisation including VMWare and Hyper V, O365, Azure, Skype for Business, Active Directory and Group Policy management.

A strong technical background with demonstrable interest in expanding your technical skills
An ability to interact with internal customers of all levels and provide ownership and solutions for issues
Excellent written and oral communication skills
An articulate telephone manner
An ability to work independently using your own initiative, whilst engaging with other teammembers
Good administration and analytical skills with an attention to detail and eligibility for security clearance to SC
