Purpose of Role

To provide a safe and efficient maintenance and breakdown service within Radiological Instrumentation and Electronic Services ensuring that jobs are carried out in accordance with Company and local arrangements, procedures and safety rules taking full account of Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations and Company Policy.

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Safety, Environment & Security

• Maintain your own safe & secure workplace, identifying safety, environmental and information security risks and hazards, apply STAR and report unusual occurrences

• Maintain knowledge of the relevant local and Magnox management systems

Leadership

• Lead on the development and maintenance of your personal skill, knowledge, authorisation and training required for your role.

• Establish and maintain an appropriate and effective level of stakeholder engagement.

Delivery

• Undertake preventative planned maintenance activities as directed and in accordance with approved instructions.

• Undertake corrective works where identified and in accordance with approved instructions.

• Assist with ongoing reviews of maintenance documentation.

• Assist with the supervision of contractor activities within the facilities.

• Respond to breakdowns to ensure that maintenance and corrective works are completed safely and in a timely manner.

• Produce accurate post-maintenance records in a timely manner.

• Support the effective deployment of company-wide policies, processes, systems and procedures ensuring that at all time the business remains compliant. This includes, but is not limited to, the need to comply with the company’s Equality and Diversity Policy and

• undertake identified associated learning and development activities.

Education / Qualifications / Training

IOSH Working Safely qualification

Experience / Knowledge

Experience in other trades eg electrical / mechanical

Experience of general maintenance within a nuclear environment

Able to use protective clothing and equipment

Working knowledge of Word and Excel

An awareness of safe working practices

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Able to be a classified radiation worker in accordance with Ionising Radiation Regulations.

The post holder will be required, to have a Full UK Driving License.

Security Clearance to SC level is required.

The post holder will require a good level of fitness and manual dexterity.
