The Role

As a member of the Information Services & Technology (IS&T) team reporting to the IS&T Operational Lead, the Technical Assistant role contributes to the safe management of the company through setting, monitoring and reinforcement of standards and expectations

Key Accountabilities

• First point of contact for the company user base, providing effective and appropriate assistance to the 1st Line Support by managing and responding to incoming incidents and requests.

• Administration support of the departmental mailbox

• Provide administration assistance to the IT team for ticket entry into ServiceNow

• Provide prompt, accurate and clear job allocations to the company 1st Line Support team

• Prioritisation of 1st line support tasks

• Provide first time fixes for password resets and permission tasks within the Active Directory

• Ensure Cyber and Information security is always at the forefront of managing support, incidents and user requests

• Assist with providing a triage service for 2nd and 3rd line support with 3rd party suppliers

• To support the 1st Line Service in providing management, direction and coordination to all IS&T 3rd party support arrangements for the business

• Contribute to the provision of a resilient support and coordination service to assist the user base for requests, issues and escalation.

• Provide clear, concise and regular communications to the User base.

• Produce reports on actual targets vs the agreed SLA’s and produce trends

• Assist with the management of IS&T assets, keep the details and locations current and help with asset refresh requirements

• Provide the administration and coordination of the Managed Print service, replenish consumables and recycle used items, in all company locations

• Provide prompts for the 1st Line Team to conduct regular tasks

• Provide administration of stand-alone devices across the business, ensuring they have the correct patches and fixes applied

• Provide assistance in the development and continuous improvement to the 3rd party support solutions

Key Requirements

• Good standard of education including GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent)

• Full understanding and application of the Microsoft Office suite

• Effective Communicator

• High Integrity

• Team Player

• Eye for Detail

• Good Written and Verbal communication skills

• Experience in an office environment

• Experience of delivering customer service

• Knowledge and understanding of the organisation and function of various departments across the business (desirable)

•Ability to achieve SC Clearance
