Project - ISS/TOM - Procurement of ICT Services

Project Scope Statement/Justification

The Procurement of ICT Services (PICTS) programme will establish a new ICT delivery model across the company.

The current provision for most of the ICT services is via a mono-source contract.

The future contract model for the company is multi-sourced - comprising multiple contracts, ensuring they are aligned with NDA and Government IT strategy, i.e.

To create a continually improving ICT environment to deliver value for money

In addition, the Service Integration and Management (SIAM) is to be independent (but not detached from the Intelligent Customer Function) to drive the right balance of risk and control.

This programme is very much about driving business change as well as technology so strong stakeholder management and business change skills will be required.

Project Deliverables

Specific Role Responsibilities

Be responsible for the development, implementation and management of a robust and effective Service Integration and Management.

Produce a brief but concise Project Execution Plan

Consult with the Projects Planning team to ensure any issues impacting delivery are captured and assessed against the Project Plan

General Responsibilities

Implementing and complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality, company procedures, policies, legislative, regulatory, requirements.

Developing, maintaining, reporting and trending an accurate project baseline.

Maximising within the project the use of Learning from Experience and disseminating new LFE to the relevant functions

Implementing and maintaining the project and supporting functions interfaces.

Providing accurate and timely information and reports regarding the project status, activities and performance

Identifying risks and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.

Implementing and maintaining effective integrated project execution strategies and plans.

Implementing and maintaining effective communication to the project team and stakeholders.

Meeting the specified project functional criteria

Project Desirables

SQEPed at PM1

At least 5 years’ experience managing the Delivery of IT Projects

Experience of working in a mutli-sourcing environment (SIAM)

Able to manage multiple stakeholders

Experience of Risk Management

Experience of Execution Planning

Business Change experience

Required Qualifications

Member of APM or PMI

APM PMQ (or equivalent) - desirable

Degree qualified (2:1) - desirable
