Working within a highly active handling and inspection facility. The facility comprises 13 heavily shielded cells (also known as caves), each fitted with equipment enabling remote operations for the handling, transfer, preparation, inspection and disposal of highly radioactive materials.
The working hours for this position will be Monday – Friday 7.45 – 4.20 with the option of overtime.
This role has been deemed Inside IR35.
Routine and request radiation and contamination surveys using various Radiation Protection Instruments.
Writing up of surveys and ensuring log entries are clearly written.
In cell work requiring PPE, including Tyvek, Nuprotek and Airfed suits.
Monitoring of Waste
City & Guilds Radiation Protection Stage 1 or NVQ Level2 in Radiation Protection
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Health Physicist
Knowledge of IRRs
SC Security Clearance
